Stuff and Things.
I did not see the Astro Boy movie this, or any weekend, largely because it looked really bland. Sounds like sticking with my original series DVDs was a good idea.

Anyway yeah, stuff and things and whatnot. Played some Tekken 6 (I'm RoboYuji on PSN), beat the third PS2 Ratchet and Clank game even though the last boss fight was a fucking pain, watched Night of the Living Dead on Halloween on AMC, picked up a Transformers Animated Ultra Magnus for half price at Toys R Us, and that's pretty much it.

Also, commisssssssssssions . . .

I'm lowering my commission rates for the forever, so make me draw you something! Also, they're not really just for the summer anymore.

Single character illustrations available.

$10 for an inked line-art drawing
$20 for a colored drawing (digital only)

I'm accepting payments through Paypal mostly, though we can work something out if you can't do that.

Email me at yuji@bizarreuprising.com with "Commission Request" in the subject line, with what you want and I'll set you up.

Astro Boy?
I've been a fan of Astro Boy for quite a while. I also quite enjoyed IMAGI's TMNT CG movie. So when I heard they were making an Astro Boy movie, I was understandably excited.

When I first started seeing promo materials with Astro Boy in clothes, I got a little worried, but even that wouldn't sway me into disliking it. Then I saw character designs for some unrecognizable kids and I got a bit more worried. They weren't even designed to look like Tezuka creations. Now I was a bit more worried, but I still hoped to enjoy the movie for whatever it was.

I saw it yesterday and I have to say I wonder why they even bothered to call it Astro Boy. More time was spent on shitty new kids and wrong plot than anything that felt authentic. To top it off, Nicholas Cage played Dr. Tenma and he has the acting range of a stroke victim. I kept wanting to just leave the theater mid-movie, because I just knew after the first half hour that they had no way of redeeming themselves and I was right.

Both my wife and Gil's girlfriend liked the movie though. So if you don't know anything about Astro Boy, you could enjoy the film until you read or watched anything authentic.
